It is without a doubt that the greatest views can be found underwater. The beauty of underwater life makes scuba diving worthwhile because, honestly, without the view underwater, there’s no point scuba diving. Have you tried scuba diving? Have you experienced thinking, “What I’d give to get a picture of this view!” Fortunately, with underwater photography, you can now take pictures when you go scuba diving. And the best thing about this is that you can take the best and clearest pictures of life underwater!

The Interest on Underwater Photography

More and more people are expressing their interest with underwater photography. This is not surprising because the minute you see a picture taken underwater, you’d probably think, “I’d like to get a shot like this.” So, you shouldn’t wonder why many photographers are going on diving expeditions these days. Coming home with the best underwater shots is simply gratifying. You’d be able to share the wonderful pictures to your friends and family. This is certainly taking your hobby or your profession to new heights.

Starting Underwater Photography

If you are interested with underwater photography, you’ve probably been browsing through websites, reading about equipment and cameras. Learning how to do underwater photography takes time. Perhaps, you can start with reading some information, articles or ebooks on this type of photography.

This takes time though and it’s highly doubtful if you’d learn a lot if you do not practice. Too often, people learn more from practicing than from reading. So do not be afraid to jump and take as many photos as you want. You’d soon learn the tricks of underwater photography.

When you first try this type of photography, you’d probably start with a water-proof camera. This is great for in waters with shallow depths. However, this is not great for much deeper depths. The quality of the photos is not that great as well. Aside from water-proof camera, you could also start with amphibious cameras. This is better for beginners. This is lightweight and compact. It is great for taking pictures underwater. Other than this, you can also try outfitting your camera to suit underwater photography.

This latter option though is quite expensive. However, the pictures this creates are simply breathtaking. Your final option is the digital underwater cameras. These are designed to allow you to take magnificent pictures with less effort. This is a great option if you are just starting.

Taking Pictures Underwater

Regardless of what you choose to use, you can then start taking pictures underwater. Just take as many pictures as you like. You can then compare the photos, take note of the mistakes in one or two, and learn from these mistakes. Here are some tips on how to get the best pictures of underwater photography:

a.	Determine your subject and get close to it. What’s amazing about underwater photography is that the objects you’re desirous of photographing is suspended. So, the pictures, if taken correctly, are just amazing.

b.	Focus on small underwater objects first.

c.	Position your flashgun a good distance away from the camera’s lens axis.

Look Right behind You!
The right kind of background lends movement and emotion to a studio picture.

Color coordination is necessary when choosing the kind of background. It lends the mood that is necessary for the emotion that the photographer wants to depict. It can make the subject look like she or he is visiting a foreign country. And ultimately the background would make the presentation of the subject more pleasant if it highlights all the right things in the subject such as figure or skin or hair color. Balance and harmony are necessary in photographs that are taken inside a studio so the background plays an important role.

Tapestries, sceneries, tie-dyed muslins and canvas backgrounds are the most common ones that are used by budding and even professional photographers.

In order to bring the best coloring out of a subject, the photographer should use solid colors.

Lighting and backgrounds go hand in hand so with the right kind of background there should be appropriate amount and kind of lighting. Colors on cloth change when it is exposed to different colors, kinds and amounts of light.

Atmosphere can also be altered by changing the background. Thus, a photographer should be ready for specialized background for most events or holidays. Seasonal designs, paintings of famous places and landmarks are among the most famous kinds.
As every picture is collaboration between the photographer and the subject, it is also an option to choose a background that fits the personality of the subject. Humorous backgrounds or more somber backgrounds can be used for shots of this kind.

The photographer should always be sensitive enough to ask a person what kind of background he or she wants to use. The more options available and with a few well meaning suggestions from the photographer, a picture can be as perfect as a subject wants it to be.

But in the case of an outdoor or live shot, a photographer must remember that there is a possibility that the background can overwhelm the subject, so light adjustment as well as the right angle is necessary. The simpler the background, the better.

Hilarious shots are borne out haste. Make sure that the subject doesn’t look like he grew antlers because of a tree branch behind his head. Blurring the background by using a narrow depth of field is also a good suggestion. It merely captures the colors in the background and keeps the focus on the subject. For digital camera users, the portrait shooting mode is the best way to go.

Lines and sizes of fixtures in the background can help create illusion of size and emphasis. The subject doesn’t need to be in the center to be noticeable. A child beside a bolder can be as noticeable because of the contrast of size.
But ultimately it is up to the photographer who has the eye to capture moments and everything else in between to create a meaningful picture. Photography is after all an art of balancing light, shadows and color.

Love in Photography Conceptual

Love is one of the most mysterious feelings of all, it is beyond the expression of words but it can be shown through photography. Because of the development of science, various technological advancements were employed as the time goes by. Gone are the days when people would merely settle with camera using films, nowadays, there are modernly created digital cameras wherein you can take numbers of pictures as long as your memory permit. People had also become more experimental on how they take their images; anyone would no longer attempt to take pictures like the usual scenes wherein they will ask people to stand in a row as if they’ll be subjected to fire squad or so on. Most photographers would now go for photography conceptual.

Since love is hard to explain, love in photography conceptual is the best means to express it. This is what this kind of photography is all about; it projects and stirs certain emotion on the people who are viewing the piece. You probably heard someone tell you that he saw one photograph and starts to make him reminisce his childhood or a man who tried to propose to his wife by showing him photos that projects an image of how he truly feels. Love in photography conceptual can go down to a person’s very core and triggers every nerve within the body to feel the emotions being portrayed.

If photography is your craft and you want to study how to apply love in photography conceptual then you will need to first learn how ideas are made and the means to interpret from a feeling to something that could be touched. It takes a good lighting technique to obtain the best piece. However, you need not to buy all sorts of lighting equipments just to make your work come alive, rather there are some household tools like house lamps, matches, garage lights, flashlights, and camera flashes to create a trick as if you have taken your picture in a real studio.

Moreover, it also takes practice to prefect your skill. You need not to be disheartened with a single attempt rather you should be delighted with the thought that each failure you make, you are collecting a ticket to success. You should also learn how all elements on the studio would work with one another to obtain maximum impact.

Expressing love in photography conceptual is not hard to do given the fact that almost anyone had experience the feeling of how it feels to be in love so it is easy to put them into images. Browse the internet for some samples of work that explains love in photography, you can make them as your inspiration. Research facts on how to do conceptual photography better properly so that you’ll create the best one ever. Take some time to learn first the ins and outs before you finally expect yourself to make a beautiful piece. Everybody has their own starting point, do not rush the process.
I love photography, and photography loves you. Best of luck to you all.

Vintage Photography takes history in a picture to a literal sense. Having been said that everything that has happened in the past is a part of history, it narrows it down to those obscure years in the nineteenth-century. But nowadays, collectors are gearing towards purchasing collections from the 1980s mainly because as time passes, these pictures represent more and more the part of the past which is still relatively important to the present generation.

But what makes a picture a vintage? If the processes that where used in the past is still being used by present photographers there are requirements that need to be met before an old picture can be considered an authentic vintage photograph.

First of all it has to be made by a famous photographer from the 18th, 19th or early 20th century. Often because of the peculiar life of the photographer, a picture becomes worth more than others. This is not an unusual factor in the art world. Painters also have this advantage. And being modern versions of these artists, photographers use life and moments to paint a picture in captured lights and shadows.

Second, it should have been captured in the 18th, 19th or early 20th century. War photographs, rural family pictures and storytelling pictures are fetching images that most photographers of that time used to showcase their opinions or observations of how life was during their generation. This makes for the immense historical value of the pictures that are taken during this era.

Third, the print must have been made soon after the artist captured the photograph. If reproductions of the vintage photographs are made, they are no longer considered as authentic. Often pictures such as these suffer wear and tear and are often unearth in auctions, offline or online. Tattered photographs are sold off with estates for small profit. Most online sellers, according to vintage photography dealers, do not fully understand the value of the pictures that they are selling.

Lastly, the print must have been made with a historic process such as albumen, salt or platinum print as well as daguerreotype. Unfortunately because these processes are still being used by some photographers an eye for detail and great deal of research is needed to ensure the authenticity of a vintage picture. And with the dawn of digital photography and digital photo manipulation, there are counterfeit versions of vintage photographs that were manufactured using photo alteration software that are being posed as authentic. Collectors therefore need to be more careful.

Being a part of history, often the only remaining memento of an unknown person’s life, vintage photographs lend a story that needs to be told. Collectors not only look for a picture that is aesthetically and emotionally significant but often these enthusiasts are photographers who have the flair of a historian. So before a picture becomes valuable or marketable, the dealer needs to get all possible information available from the seller or the life of the photographer in order to sell that piece of historical art. Ultimately it is the background of the picture that makes it a cut above the rest.

What does it take to create the perfect picture? A great photographer would probably say, “Recurrence, consistency, unity, disparity, balance, irregularity, imagery, stark truth and a good dose of passion.” These are the components of any perfect photograph and these are the same components needed for landscape photography.

Landscape Photography – A Surviving Passion
Landscape photography is not new. With so many beautiful things around you and with your camera on hand, it’s difficult for a photographer to resist taking a picture. Many photographers are attracted to this type of photography. This is not surprising. You can trace the oldest landscape photo to as early as 1800s. The 19th century witnessed the boom of this photography field. Many photographers came out with the biggest awe inspiring photographs that now grace countless museums all over the world. And with the advent of digital camera, more and more people are acquiring passion for photography and are falling in love with landscape photography.

Preparing for Landscape Photography

If you are new to photography, you’d probably consider landscape photography as fairly easy. People think that this type of photography does not have the same restrictions and limitations like other types of photography. Unlike a fashion photographer, you don’t need to waste your voice shouting instructions to your model. You don’t need to find angles. Well, this is how people regard landscape photography. Ironically, experienced photographers would strongly disagree because to get a good landscape picture, you need two things – a great set of cameras and a sharp photographer’s eyes. Without these two things, a scene would only look ordinary. However, with these things a plain view would look extraordinary.’

Before you start taking landscape photos, you need to take several things into consideration. You also need to equip yourself with the right equipment for landscape photography. Here are some of the things you need to get:
a.	You need a camera and various lenses. Throw in lens shades as well to protect your camera and lens. Any camera is great for this type of photography; but to get the perfect picture, you should get digital SLR. When choosing lenses, picked wide-angle lenses because these capture more of the view.
b.	Get yourself a supply of films and filters. Although everything is digital nowadays, it is a good idea to get yourself old fashion films. Nothing beats ISO films if you want to get clearer pictures.
c.	Get a tripod. You may not think that this is necessary but it is. You’d be able to avoid blurry shots if you have a steady tripod.

Tips on How to Take Perfect Landscape Shots
If you want to get perfect landscape pictures, here are some tips to help you get those breathtaking shots:
•	Be careful with your camera’s position. Make sure it’s leveled.
•	Take note of the light. Make sure it’d flatter your subject.
•	Opt for cable release and avoid your camera’s timer function.
•	Use lens filters when taking pictures.
•	Consider the background in relation to the landscape.
•	Choose the perfect time and weather for landscape photography.

There are a lot of websites where you can learn more of landscape photography. You only need to look for them.

The Beauty of Anticipation

Pregnancy is considered one of the most memorable times in a woman’s life. And photography has long been considered a means to freeze the moment that a person would like to capture and keep for the rest of her life. Gone are the days when women hide away their form because they are “infanticipating? The modern woman has demanded recognition in her sacrifices in rearing the next generation. Thus, pregnancy photography came to be one the most sought after services in a professional photographer’s trade.

It is only natural for a first mother to want to capture the moment especially in today’s fast-paced environment. It would remind her that she is still as beautiful, if not more beautiful, in the eyes of her husband when she sees that she can register well in a photograph. As much as the eternally youthful picture she has taken when she was at the peak of her single life, taking her picture during the peak of her pregnancy, is a major ego-booster.

After getting married and shelving wedding pictures away, taking maternity pictures to immortalize a very crucial moment in a couple’s life has become the next step to a life captured in highlighted photographs. In today’s digital world film photography seems to be loosing to the more convenient forms of taking and storing pictures. But similar to having their wives painted on canvass, husbands opt for the modern counterpart.

Renowned photographers have long been taken by the beauty of the woman’s frame and a pregnant woman delivers more challenges when it comes to lighting and angles since a woman’s form needs the right amount of shadow and light to present its best version on film. Thus a truly talented photographer can make a pregnant woman feel like she is looking at a gorgeous woman in a delicate and life-altering time of her life.

Popularized by celebrities such as Demi Moore, whose photograph grazed magazine covers all over the world, as a celebration of their motherhood, pregnancy photography has become a benchmark in the life of woman after her wedding photos are taken, star or otherwise. And because modern day women feel affiliated to their favorite actress as co-conspirators to being both a career woman and a mother, it is more likely that a woman would get herself photographed when she is pregnant when her favorite icon does the same.

Photographers opt to capture these moments right in the woman’s own home, making the picture not only a reminder of her condition but also of the environment wherein her child is reared. Personality makes pregnancy photography a delicate form of portrait photography. A woman would want to mix her personality with the ethereal glow of her condition. This makes every picture unique from the rest.

But pregnancy photos do not limit its model to the mother. The proud father could add to the emotion of anxious delight in having a child in their partner’s womb. Even the most masculine of better halves lend a touch of love in these pictures.
So it looks like pregnant pictures are here to stay.

Of course the basic principles of photography still apply in digital photography like making sure that your hands are not shaking when taking photos. Although most digital cameras have features that disable motion and movement to help come up with clear shots.

One of the most important digital photography tips I’ve had in digital photography is the angle. Angle is one of the most important factors in photography since it gives you different views of the world and your subject in particular. A subject can be more interesting and flattering depending on the angle at which you’ve taken the shot and most photographers knows the secret of what works well and they take advantage of it.

To understand the importance of proper angle, try to look at one object in the table while you are standing, now look again at the same object sitting down – you’ll get a different view right? The object is somehow closer though you did not step closer. Now try to look again at the same object crouching down, again the difference.

With this in mind you’ll understand that taking pictures at different angles are an important skill you need to learn in digital photography. If you are not yet used to the right angles, try snapping pictures of anyone or any subject with your digital camera and make comparisons.

You will instantly see the difference of each angle and what works wells. For example most people will take pictures of babies or children from a standing position looking down at the subject, but if you just get down at their level you will find a different angle and when you take pictures in this position you’ll find you’ll get better and more interesting shot of the child. When you combine this new idea with other techniques, you will find that it works well for your digital photography.

Photography captures time as they always say. Every special moment in a person’s life are documented by pictures taken specifically for the purpose of capturing the moment and make a lasting remembrance of the occasion. Weddings, birthdays, graduation and all the other milestone in life are being made immortal by photograph because time is captured in a capsule to be forever remembered the way it was portrayed.

Glamour photography enhances everything that is beautiful in the subject whether it’s a person, place, product or any object that the photographer finds interesting or are assigned to make. It’s often used for product endorsement, personal portraits, magazine cover and the like. As glamorous as it sounds, glamour photography is not complicated and all the other basic principles are applied. Here are some practical and important glamour photography tips and advice

The first thing a photographer must ensure is that they should have a trick in their sleeves to make people comfortable in front of the camera. Most people are very much aware of the presence of the camera and are uncomfortable with it, especially if they are not models and like to have glamour pictures of them. When a person is conscious of the camera, the image you will capture is not the one that truly represents the true essence of the subject. And since photography is all about capturing the true essence of a person you must make sure, especially in glamour shots that your subject will be made comfortable before or during the shots.

Another glamour photography tips and advice is that it is best taken in subdued or diffused light so that the focus is on your subject and not on the surrounding or background. Light angle is very important and you should ensure that the light is coming the side or from the top to accent small details of the subject. If you are going to shoot outside then choose a cloudy day or early morning light so that there will no be shadows and to extra warmth to skin. Also make sure that your subject is always brighter than the background so that the focus is centered on your subject and to reduce distraction as well. Don’t worry if your picture will not be sharp, some of the great glamour shots are not.

For close-up glamour shots you can use a wide aperture (low f/stop) so that the background is set out of focus for less distraction of the subject. Commonly, professional photographers use fixed telephoto lens with 90 mm or higher for glamour portraits to de-emphasize the nose or any unflattering features of the subject. This technique works well because no feature of the face is made to seem closer to the camera than the rest of the subject’s face. Another glamour photography tips and advice is to put emphasis on controlling the light contrast so that the subject is not lost in heavy shadows or bright highlights, which is why controlling exposure is imperative to get the perfect tones of your subject’s face.

There are many people who are going for portraits shots and this remains as one of the most highly sought personal services in terms of photography. Models and common people alike want to capture their image in a flattering photo of their face taken close-up. There are many portrait photography tips and advice which you can find in the internet and that will give you valuable insights in the practice of this skill. But as with any other skill, portrait photography will need time and proper equipment to master to help you enter the professional level of the industry.

The first thing you must do as aspiring portrait photographer is to enroll yourself in one of the lessons offered in many schools. This way you’ll learn the basics and fundamentals of taking and capturing photos of people, places, and things. You’ll learn what works and what does not, and help you form a right foundation for your skill. Jumping or skipping the fundamental lessons of photography will not be advantageous for you, but is rather a liability since you will have a hard time incorporating advance techniques later on in your profession.

Another tip would be to practice your eyes in taking photographs. Browse magazines, websites that features portraits to help you give an idea of what angles works best, what time of the day it is best to shoot pictures and other important factors that is relevant to your portrait photography. Practice, practice, practice taking shots either indoor or outdoor and you can use your friend, partner as your model – but for best results work with a professional model once in a while to hone your craft.

Another portrait photography tips and advice would be to know your equipment well. There are many innovation and latest technology and gadgets available for you to choose from to help you with your portraits photography. Not all cameras are created equal so be sure to search for the right one for the kind of photography you are engaging. Consider the telephoto lens that will work best in the nature of taking pictures at close-up range where some features of the face may look closer than the rest of the face like the face. Lighting angles and fixtures is also another consideration that you need to learn so you get the best flattering shot of your subject which is mostly at the sides.

Another portrait photography tip and advice is to try to diffuse the light when taking portrait photograph indoors to help create distraction. The focus should be on the subject and the environment or background is diffuse for greater results. When taking portrait shots outdoor, choose the first hour in the morning where the sunlight is not yet strong and will give extra warmth to the skin tone of your subject. You can even take advantage of cloudy day that has more diffused lights perfect for creating portrait shots. Lastly, as a photographer be aware that most subjects are self-conscious of the camera and will not stand still for a very long time unless you’ve made a way for them to get comfortable.
